Tree For Me - event support, vol., Toronto, Ontario
Date posted to RCEN & PlanetVolunteer: Apr 13 2017

Position: Tree For Me event support
Organization: Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation
Location: Toronto, Ontario

Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation has been helping Toronto transform its parks and green spaces since 2002. We work in partnership with the City of Toronto, community groups, neighbourhoods, individuals and the business community to reimagine local parks and improve the health of Toronto’s urban forest by supporting tree planting and stewardship efforts.

About the role:

Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation partners with community organizations to bring Tree For Me events to neighbourhoods across Toronto. Through the Tree For Me program, Toronto residents with room to plant a tree can sign up to receive a free native tree and pick it up at a community event. At Tree For Me events, participants take part in a short tree stewardship workshop prior to receiving their tree and mulch.

Tree For Me is powered by volunteers. TPTF is currently recruiting volunteers to help out at these community events. Some of the roles you might be asked to fill are: greeter, check-in/registration table, assisting with workshops, handing out trees, managing the mulch pile, taking photos, handing out information, etc.
