SPRING/SUMMER NATURE PROGRAM VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Organization: Kids In the Woods Initiative
Location: Toronto, (near Toronto Zoo), Ontario
Welcome to Kids In the Woods Initiative—K.I.W.I., a nonprofit organization providing beneficial outdoor nature experience programs for children ages 4- 13. Our goal is to reconnect kids to nature through adventure-play and mentoring in Toronto’s beautiful Rouge Park!.
We are currently recruiting volunteers for our 2017 season of programs.
What are you doing this summer?
Help us reconnect children to nature in our summer Adventure Camps! We have camp during July (please visit our website at the "Summer Camp" tab for dates. Camps run Monday - Friday, from 9:00 am -- 12:00 pm.
We also run programming year round. Our Saturday programming runs for six week intervals each season (fall, winter, spring). Our after-school program runs for 10 weeks each season. Our summer camp program runs for one week intervals in July. We ask volunteers to commit to an entire schedule of a particular program they are interested in.
Assist staff with the delivery of our outdoor programs. You will be interacting directly with the children enrolled in our program.
K.I.W.I is an outdoor nature experience program and all of our programming is conducted entirely outdoors, so we are looking for individuals who can adapt to all kinds of weather. All applicants must provide a current police background check.
